Morris Day "Ain't Nothin Like A Morris Day Party"

Morris Day The Time and Serieux performed on the final Jazzy Wed at Chene Park Detroit August 23,2017. All I can say is I'm going to miss the greatest urban concert venue if not in the world the United states Chene Park Detroit. I have never seen a fan-base that appreciates great music like Motown. The night air is always filled with anticipation and performers always bring their A-game to Chene Park. Applause, standing ovations I been photographing acts at Chene Park for 5 years now, I've never seen nothing but respect for the venue from fans who attend concerts there.

THE TIME's funky debut album, in reality it's just PRINCE aka JAIME STARR playing all the instruments, writing & arranging all the material, singing all the backgrounds with childhood friend and former Champagne/Grand Central (Prince's first bands) band-mate Morris Day, who also sings lead and creates a memorable character of a wise-cracking, suave, sharp-dressing ultra hip player who was the embodiment of COOL!! Morris Day and The Time are one of the most underrated musical collaborations of the last 25 years. As a supporting group for Prince and the Revolution, they were capable of holding their own with Prince's band.

Morris Day is one of my favorite live performers' dude is so COOL, dress exquisite and a true entertainer. Morris always shows up with class, style and true appreciation for his fans. His five-piece funk band is always well tuned and precise. Jerome Benton Morris Day original sideman, unfortunately, didn't show but his fill-in made Morris mirror flashes authentic so he can make sure he still looking G. Day moves are always well choreographed without effort, I think after 30 years they should be part of his DNA. And when Day asked for some "sexy ladies" to come up on stage to show off their moves, the stage was taken over by a diverse group of females from babe mamas to grandmothers in varying degrees of provocative attire, who bumped, grinned, and twerked their way across the stage.

Morris is just too much when he's talking to the audience -They do it all, make you dance, crunching guitar solos that make you want to bang your head, lyrics that'll make you giggle and feel kinky at the same time. Prince brought his Minneapolis sound to worldwide prominence! But Morris Day and The Time help Prince set it off.
